Since the age of 9, the game of tennis has shaped and molded DeSean physically and mentally. A former junior of Legacy Youth Tennis and Education, he gained his love of tennis through the National Junior Tennis League summer program and is one of few who went through the entire Legacy program. Obtaining a ranking of #7 in the Middle States section and #176 nationally for Boys 16 & under De-Sean led his high school team, Roman Catholic High School, to the Philadelphia Catholic League finals (2007-2010). Along the way, DeSean went an impressive 61-0 at the #1 singles position and was 2x District 12 singles champion (2009, 2011).
Prior to joining the Legacy staff DeSean attended La Salle University earning his B.A. in Communication and minor in Spanish. DeSean led their Division 1 tennis team in wins at the #1 singles and doubles positions all four years of attendance.
At Legacy, he is Lead Coach of the Rising Stars program and co-leads the Competitive 1 clinic.
He is also Head Varsity Tennis Coach at Lower Merion High School, Middle & Upper School Head Junior Varsity Tennis Coach and Middle & Upper School Squash Coach at Germantown Friends School. During the day, he teaches 4th grade at Germantown Friends School.
DeSean is USTA 10 & under certified.
