Sanjin Kunovac

Sanjin Kunovac is one of the premier developmental coaches in the country. As Legacy’s Director of Tennis, he has coached many of the top sectionally and nationally ranked juniors. Since joining Legacy in 2011, Sanjin served as the Director of Player Development, as well as the Academy Lead.Sanjin played college tennis at Florida Southern and served as the men’s assistant coach at Temple University. He is a former player and coach at the IMG Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida, where he was coached by and worked alongside some of the most accomplished and renowned tennis coaches in the world.
Sanjin is certified by the USTA as a High-Performance Coach and holds a Master Certificate from PTR in Professional Performance. He serves on the USTA Middle States Coaches Commission Board and is tremendously passionate about growing and developing youth tennis in Philadelphia and in the Middle States. Additionally, Sanjin is actively involved in the USTA NJTL Excellence Teams, Early Development Camps, Sectional, Regional and Team USA Camps.

Kat Sorokko

Kat is the Senior Director of Operations at Legacy. Kat is a product of NJTL programming, growing up in Queens, NY. She is a graduate of Brown University where she played Division I Tennis. She holds a masters in Sports Management from Columbia University and comes to us from the John McEnroe Tennis Academy facility in Syosset, NY where she was the Director of Player Development/Associate Academy Director.

Jon Bair

Jon is a USPTA Elite Professional and USTA HiIgh-Performance Coach. For the past 10 years, Jon has served as the Director of Junior Tennis at Hempfield REC Center in Lancaster, PA. Jon has worked with many top middle state and national players including players ranked #1 in the Middle States and top #10 in the country.
Originally born in Hutchinson, KS, Jon played junior tennis in the Missouri Valley section. He trained at both Mike Wolf Tennis Academy and Evert Tennis Academy in Boca Raton, FL. During his junior career, Jon Ranked as high as 1 in the Missouri Valley section and 5 in the country. After graduating from high school he attended Boise State University on athletic and academic scholarships. While at Boise State the Broncos won two WAC (Western Athletic Conference) team championships and made it to the team NCAA Championships round of 16. He then went on to play professionally for a few years and was ranked as high as #655 in the world. Jon is excited to share his knowledge and passion for tennis with the LEGACY community!

Scott Battaglia
Adult Director of Tennis

As a youth, Scott, a Wilmington, Delaware native, was a highly ranked Middle States and National Tennis Player. Scott graduated from Saint Joseph’s University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management and Insurance.
At Saint Joe’s, Scott competed on the Division 1 Men’s Tennis Team, and was elected team Captain his senior year. Prior to joining LEGACY Scott was an Assistant Racquets Professional at Chester Valley Golf Club and Philadelphia Country Club. While Scott is excited to grow our adult program, he is also passionate and highly interested in coaching LEGACY’s junior players.
Denard McLendon

Denard brings over 20 years of tennis coaching experience and is excited to work with clients at Legacy. Originally from Winston-Salem, NC, he had a successful junior career in the highly-competitive USTA Southern Section. Denard graduated from Delaware State University where he received a scholarship and played number 1 singles.
Professionally, Denard has coached in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. In North Carolina, he was owner/director of Maximum Tennis Academy, a full-service player development academy for players at the National and Sectional levels. He was head coach of three-time North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association State Champions, Forsyth Country Day School varsity tennis teams. In 2019 he was inducted into the Forsyth Country Day School Athletic Hall of Fame.
In Pennsylvania, Denard served as Director of Tennis at the Frog Hollow Racquet Club working with players of all levels, including adults and juniors. Most recently, he held the position of Director of Programming for a New Jersey NJTL. Denard is certified by the USTA as a High-Performance Coach, holds a Professional Certificate (Adults and 10-and-Under) from PTR, and serves on the USTA Middle States Coaches Commission Board.
Denard’s passion for tennis drives him to continue being a student of the game. He wants to help players to reach their goals both on and off-court and looks forward to working with kids and adults.

Joseph Reynolds

Coach Reynolds is a graduate of Coppin State University in Md., where he played number one singles for its Division 1 program. He grew up in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia, where he was introduced to the game by his father, an avid tennis player. He is a product of Bill Johnson’s Urban League Tennis Program and played sectionally (holding a top 5 ranking for much of his junior career) as well as for Penn Charter. Notably, he is a two-time winner of the ATA National Championships, an event that Legacy students compete in year after year. Today, Coach Reynolds works with community program students through the Changing the Game and Rising Stars programs, while also serving as the clinic lead for the Competitive 3 program at the Legacy Center.

Kein Wilson

Philadelphia resident Coach Kein Wilson developed his abilities, and passion for tennis in the Legacy Youth Tennis and Education program. He became inspired by the life mission of Arthur Ashe, and how the organization had crafted those ideals with such care and professionalism. Coach Kein believed he could do the same through the global reach of tennis and has dedicated his life to the sport. Collectively he has been with the organization for over 18 years. In this time he has been a part of various programs such as National Junior Tennis and Learning summer camps, after-school programs and USTA Team Tennis to name a few. Kein has assisted or advised, in the creation of much of our center-based programming structure and has also created supplementary programming for the organization. Kyle Chalmers, a native of Tempe, AZ, fell in love with tennis when he was 7 years old. His highest ranking in the Southwest section was #3 and he won 3 team tennis state titles with Brophy Prep, his high school. While he tore his ACL during his junior year in high school, he learned what it means to have grit and to compete from this tough experience. At Saint Joseph’s University, he played from 2013-2017 where he was a 2-time 2nd Team All-Atlantic 10 Team member, 3-time A-10 All-Academic Team member, and 2-time Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Performer of the Year. He is tied for the school record for career wins with 73 and served as the team’s captain during his senior year.
Outside of tennis, he is a fellow for Venture for America, a fellowship program committed to promoting economic opportunity in underserved cities through entrepreneurship. He aims to live out this mission every day as he works full-time for his startup called Jornaya, where he specializes in data analysis and visualization. He is shooting to grow and build his own company in the future!

Kristian (Kris) Wilson was born and raised in Philadelphia and is a former Legacy student-athlete. He played tennis at Community College of Philadelphia(CCP) for 2 years before he went on to play at Washington College under Dave Marshall. Kris worked the NJTL summer program since he was 14 years old. He worked at Sea Colony during the weekends while attending CCP teaching adult and youth tennis. After college, he worked for the after school program in Camden, Chester, and Philadelphia through Legacy. Some of his other coaching experience was at the YMCA in Lansdale as head pro for 10 and under, Gold Cup, and the assistant coach at Archbishop John Carroll girls tennis team.

Parth graduated from Mount St Mary’s University (Maryland). He earned a tennis scholarship and played primarily 1 to 3 singles and 1 doubles. As a junior player, Parth grew up in Southern California, playing top national-level tournaments. He prioritizes simplifying tennis instruction and enjoys hitting in with all students. Parth will be joining us primarily on the weekends as he is in graduate school accelerated health professions program as an aspiring physician.

Jennifer is a product of Legacy Youth Tennis and Education program and played Division I Tennis for Drexel University. She is currently pursuing her PTR license as well as her master’s degree in Sport Psychology. Having played in National and Sectional tournaments and trained in multiple facilities on the Main Line, Jennifer comes with an extensive background/experience in tennis competition. Apart from her love for the game, Jennifer is also an advocate for mental health in sports and hopes to develop holistic tennis players through mental and physical training.
